Marquette Park Shooting Wounds Young Girl, Woman, Police Say

MARQUETTE PARK — A shooting Marquette Park left a young girl and a 34-year-old woman wounded on Friday night, police said.

At 8:08 p.m., the girl was in the 6700 block of South Artesian Avenue when someone walked out of an alley and opened fire, said Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The girl was shot in her foot. She was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition, Lemmon said.

A 34-year-old woman was also shot in her foot during the incident. She took herself to St. Bernard Hospital, where she was in good condition, Lemmon said.

No one was in custody in the shooting.
