West Englewood Shooting Kills Lewis Johnson, 18, Police Say

CHICAGO — A shooting in West Englewood left an 18-year-old man dead Wednesday, police said.

At 8:08 p.m., Lewis Johnson was in the 7200 block of South Marshfield Avenue when he was shot in the abdomen, said Officer Laura Amezaga, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition and was later pronounce dead, Amezaga said.

Johnson, of the 7200 block of South Marshfield, was identified in Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records. He was pronounced dead at 8:43 p.m.

No one was in custody in the shooting.
