LOGAN SQUARE — A monthly party with a focus on the occult, power and submission is kicking off at the Whistler on Thursday night.

Switches of Eastwick will focus on a new music genre each month.

The first month features two techno/dance DJs, Jarvi and Sold.

"Everyone is welcome to this party as long as they are mindful of the space and respectful of creative expressions of gender and sexuality. Feel yourself in calm, peaceful balance with the world," according to its organizers Sophie Bee and Lorena Cupcake.

"Any malevolent or coercive magic will be swiftly dealt with by organizers, venue staff, and Santa Muerte."

The launch party starts Thursday, June 8, at 9:30 p.m. at Whistler, 2421 N. Milwaukee Ave.
