North Lawndale Shooting Wounds 17-Year-Old, Police Say

CHICAGO — A shooting in North Lawndale left a 17-year-old wounded on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

At 12:57 p.m., the teen was in the 1300 block of South Homan when he was shot, said Officer Laura Amezaga, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The teen was hit in the left side of his chest, his right heel and his left buttock.

The teen was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, Amezaga said.

The teen was a documented gang member, police said.
