Austin Robberies Prompt Police Warning

AUSTIN — Police are looking for a man or men they believe committed a pair of armed robberies in Austin last month, according to a community alert.

In each case, the robber walked up to someone in the street, pulled out a silver pistol and robbed them, police said.

The first robbery was reported at 10 p.m. May 23 in the 4900 block of West Superior Street.

The second incident happened at 1:30 a.m. May 24 in the 300 block of North Laramie Avenue.

Anyone with information on the robberies is asked to call detectives at 312-744-8263.
