11th Ward Flag Day Ceremony Set For June 14

BRIDGEPORT — The South Loop Chamber of Commerce welcomes 11th Ward residents to celebrate its 10th annual Flag Day Ceremony.

Starting at 11 a.m. June 14 at 4500 S. Halsted St., the celebration will feature appearances from Cook County Commissioner John P. Daley, Ald. Patrick D. Thompson (11th) and wounded servicemen and women with their families.

Neighborhood folks are encouraged to bring tattered and worn American, City of Chicago, P.O.W. and M.I.A. flags for proper disposal. If you can’t attend, bring your flag to the 11th Ward headquarters, 3659 S. Halsted, no later than June 13.
