UPTOWN — The Independent Police Review Authority said Uptown will be one of four neighborhoods where its representatives will meet monthly to increase accessibility to the community.

The "agency will make representatives available at offices" in East Garfield Park, Auburn Gresham, Grand Boulevard and Uptown, "to accept new complaints, answer any questions community members may have regarding the agency" or the investigative process and give updates on pending cases, according to a press release from the IPRA.

"Accessibility is essential to the IPRA's ability to fulfill its mission to accept all allegations of misconduct against officers... Our hope is that this will enhance the agency's ability to serve the community by being able to take complaints at these additional locations," said Sharon Fairley, chief administrator for the agency.

IPRA will meet at the North Area Center, 845 W. Wilson Ave., from 2-4 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month.
