LINCOLN PARK — Fights on North Avenue Beach Friday sent four people to the hospital and resulted in three arrests.
At 3 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance at the beach located at 1600 N. Lake Shore Dr., said Officer Michelle Tannehill, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. Two adults and one teen were arrested, she said, but charges were pending and she did not have more details.
The Chicago Fire Department described the incident on its Twitter account, first saying there were reports of "sick teens" and later saying there was a battery victim that was taken to the hospital.

Witnesses said multiple fights broke out. They said that many underaged beachgoers were drinking and using drugs.
"I just saw, like, people instantly grabbing each other and fighting and it was insane to the point where guys were pushing me and were like 'let's go fight this next person,' it was insane," Mariela Majewski, who witnessed the fight, told ABC7.
One adult and three children were taken to local hospitals said Frank Velez, a Fire Department spokesman.
The incident was the second one at the beach this week. On Memorial Day, a video posted online showed a brawl at the North Avenue Beach involving several people. Witnesses also said alcohol was a factor in that brawl.
