JEFFERSON PARK — The Chicago Citywide Symphony Orchestra will perform from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Jefferson Memorial Park, 4822 N. Long Ave.

The all-volunteer, 69-year-old orchestra is led by conductor and music director Chung Yoon Park, the orchestra performs four times a year on the second-floor auditorium of the Jefferson Park Field House.

The concert will feature "challenging classical works, accessible classic and light classic genre, uniquely American pieces, and less well known orchestral music deserving a hearing by modern artists and audiences," according to a statement from the Chicago Park District.

The orchestra is made up of students and amateur, semi-professional and retired musicians of all ages from Chicago and the surrounding metropolitan area, organizers said.

Interested musicians, with their own instruments, are invited to join the orchestra.
