Back Of The Yards Shootings Wound 3 People In 13 Minutes, Police Say

CHICAGO — Three people were wounded Wednesday night in shootings just 13 minutes apart in Back of the Yards, police said.

• The first shooting, at 6:24 p.m., left two men wounded, said Officer Laura Amezaga, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The men were in the 4600 block of South Wood Street when they were shot.

A 20-year-old man was hit in the back and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was not released but he was listed as "stable," Amezaga said.

A 28-year-old man was hit in the right foot and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition.

• At 6:37 p.m., a 24-year-old man was shot in the 4800 block of South Loomis Boulevard, Amezaga said. The man was hit in the head and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was not released but he was listed as "stable," Amezaga said.

The man was a documented gang member, police said.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
