CHICAGO — A 39-year-old Evanston man was killed in what appeared to be a domestic-related shooting in West Ridge late Monday night, police said.

Around 11 p.m., officers found the man unconscious in a gangway in the 6400 block of North Rockwell Street with a gunshot wound in his neck, according to Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he was pronounced dead, Lemmon said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as Johan Jean, of the 100 block of Ashland Avenue in Evanston.

No one is in custody, police said.
