Auburn Gresham Shooting Leaves 2 People Wounded, Police Say

CHICAGO — A shooting in Auburn Gresham Tuesday afternoon left two people wounded, police said.

At 12:57 p.m., a 28-year-old man and another person were standing on a corner in the 7900 block of South Laflin Street when two people walked up and fired shots, said Officer Kevin Quaid, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was hit in the torso and was taken to a hospital, where his condition was not released but he was listed as "stable," Quaid said.

The other person was injured while trying to climb a fence to escape the shooting, Quaid said. Details on that person's injuries were not immediately available.

The shooters drove off in a dark blue sedan, Quaid said.

No one was in custody.
