AUSTIN — In a brazen daylight shooting, a 17-year-old was shot twice while standing on the street in the 4800 block of West Madison Monday morning.

The teen was hit twice in a hip and rushed to a hospital, police said.

He was in the 4800 block of West Madison Street at 10:35 a.m. when a black Honda SUV drove past and someone inside began firing, said Officer Bari Lemmon, Chicago Police spokeswoman.

He was taken to Mount Sinai, and his condition was unknown, Lemmon said.

The teen is a documented gang member, police said.

No arrests have been made, Lemmon said.
