CHICAGO — A shooting one block west of St. Margaret of Scotland Parish in Washington Heights left a 24-year-old man wounded on Saturday afternoon, police said.

At 4:20 p.m., the man was walking down the street in the 1400 block of West 99th Street when someone fired shots at him, said Officer Michelle Tannehill, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was shot in his leg and was taken to a hospital, where he was in serious condition, Tannehill said.

A gun was found at the scene of the shooting.

The man was not being cooperative with officers, police said, and was a documented gang member.
