CHICAGO — Two women were wounded while driving on the Dan Ryan Expressway early Sunday, according to police and media reports.
The women, aged 20 and 23, were both shot in the leg and managed to get themselves to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, according to The Sun-Times.
They are believed to have been driving southbound near 35th Street, said Deputy Supt. John Escalante at a press conference Sunday.
They weren't being cooperative with police, and detectives were still trying to determine if they were shot on the expressway or someplace else.
"We're not exactly sure what happened," Escalante said.
