2 Killed, 9 Wounded In Shootings Since Thursday Morning, Police Say

CHICAGO — Two men were killed and nine people were wounded in shootings across the city between Thursday morning and Friday morning, police said.

Four people were shot in Englewood, two fatally, including a 37-year-old father of five gunned down while getting his hair cut.

A 26-year-old man was shot in his arm while walking out of a store in Humboldt Park Thursday night.

• In the most recent non-fatal shooting, just after midnight, a 22-year-old man was walking in the 300 block of East 75th Street in Chatham when he heard gunshots and felt pain, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was treated for gunshot wounds in his left arm and left leg, Pacheco said. Police could not immediately provide his condition but said he was "stable."

• Around 11:25 p.m. Thursday, a 17-year-old was walking in the 10100 block of South State Street in Roseland when someone approached and shot him in his right ankle, Pacheco said.

The teen was brought to Roseland Hospital, where he was "stable," police said.

• About 25 minutes earlier, a 23-year-old man was standing in the 6200 block of South King Drive in Woodlawn when a man walked up and shot at him, Pacheco said.

The man was brought to Stroger Hospital in critical condition with gunshot wounds in his back and his abdomen, Pacheco said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

The man was the seventh person shot in the Parkway Gardens complex since April 18. DeKayla Dansberry, 15, was stabbed to death there May 14.

• Around 8:30 p.m., a 26-year-old man was driving in the 3600 block of West Lexington Street in West Garfield Park when he heard gunshots and felt pain, Pacheco said.

The man brought himself to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition with a gunshot wound in his back, police said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

• About an hour earlier, a 17-year-old was walking in the 9700 block of South University Avenue in Pullman when someone shot at him from a passing gray sedan, police said.

The teen was brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was "stable" with a gunshot wound in his left shoulder, police said.

• About 3 p.m. Thursday, a 21-year-old man was walking in the 7600 block of South Chicago Avenue in Grand Crossing when someone shot at him out of a beige SUV, police said.

The man brought himself to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in good condition with gunshot wounds in his left arm and left leg, police said.

No one is in custody for any of the shootings, police said.
