West Englewood Shooting Leaves Man Dead, Police Say

CHICAGO — A 26-year-old man was found shot to death early Thursday in his West Englewood apartment, police said.

At 12:35 a.m., police were responding to a call of domestic disturbance when they found the man dead in a second-floor apartment in the 5600 block of South Wolcott Avenue, said Officer Laura Amezaga, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man had been shot in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene, Amezaga said. Police were conducting a death investigation.

No one was in custody and no further information was immediately available.
