PORTAGE PARK — One of Chicago’s newest priests is a graduate of St. Patrick High School whose first assignment will be at St. Edward Church, the Archdiocese of Chicago announced.

Dominic Clemente Jr., was one of five men to be ordained Saturday by Archbishop Blase Cupich.

Clemente graduated from the all-boys Portage Park high school in 2008. A deacon in the church, Clemente received a bachelor's degree from St. Joseph College Seminary at Loyola University and is studying for his master's degree at University of St. Mary of the Lake and Mundelein Seminary.

St. Edward Church, 4350 W. Sunnyside Ave., serves families in Portage Park, Mayfair and Old Irving Park.

Clemente celebrated his first mass Sunday at St. Celestine in Elmwood Park, where he worshipped as a child and young adult.
