Boy, 14, And Man, 30, Shot In West Englewood, Police Say

CHICAGO — A 14-year-old boy and a 30-year-old man were wounded in a West Englewood shooting Thursday night, according to police.

The two were standing on the sidewalk in th 6800 block of South Bishop Avenue at 9:05 p.m. when a man standing in an alley opened fire, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The boy was struck in his buttocks and was taken to St. Bernard Hospital, where his condition was not released but police said he was "stable." The man was shot in his right hip and was also taken to St. Bernard Hospital, where police considered him to be stable.

Both are documented gang members, according to police.

No arrests have been made, Pacheco said.
