WICKER PARK — To celebrate its fifth year, The Bedford — around the corner from the CTA Blue Line Division "L" stop — plans to unveil a "refreshed menu" on Tuesday night to kick off five consecutive days of events, including a Friday masquerade party.
Owned by a team of five investors, The Bedford, 1612 W. Division St., opened in 2011. The 6,500-square-foot subterranean enclave uses the former MB bank's vault as one of its lounge areas.
Along with new dinner menu items like diver scallops and cavatelli pasta, The Bedford's latest cocktails include "Summer Sangria," made with chardonnay, gin, lemon, pineapple, peach and strawberry puree, and "Smoking Gun" with mescal, cassis, egg white, lemon and grapefruit bitters, according to a news release from the Wicker Park restaurant.
Here is the lineup of events through Sunday. The Bedford opens at 5:30 p.m. daily.
Tuesday - Burgers & Beers: A burger can be paired with a choice of new beer offerings from Windy City Patty Wagon, including Pranqster (Belgium style Golden Ale) and Vandermill Blue Gold (semi sweet cider blended with blueberries) for $14. Plus, a special edition of Vault Comedy at 8 p.m.. features comedians Dave Sartoris, Matty Ryan, Felonious Munk and Adam Burke.
Wednesday - Live From The Vault: The Brooke Reams Trio will perform from 8 to 10 p.m. while patrons can stay seated as The Bedford’s "anniversary bar cart service" makes its way through the room.
Thursday - Bubbles & Oysters with a Side of Pearls: The Bedford’s weekly “Bubbles and Oysters” night will get a little sweeter with a special prize to the guest that finds the pearl on their plate, in addition to half-priced champagne and $1 oysters.
Friday - Golden Age Anniversary Masquerade: Go back to the golden era of supper clubs with a masquerade-inspired evening of dancing, "throwing it back to years past with entertainment from The Right Now," from 10 p.m. Friday to 1 a.m. Saturday.
Saturday - Cocktail Party in the Vault: Highlighting The Bedford’s new cocktail additions, drinks will be served table side on the last night of The Bedford’s bar cart service. DJ Sye Young and DJ Ryan Ross will be spinning in the vault from 10:30 p.m. until 2 a.m.
