ROGERS PARK— The football team at Sullivan High School says it needs new football equipment and several Rogers Park community members wants to help them achieve their goals.

On Wednesday, May 18, The Friends of Sullivan will hold a fundraiser for the football team called "Shoulder Pads For Sullivan" at Pub 626, located at 1406 W. Morse Ave. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the event is from 6:30-9 p.m. Drinks will be $5, with 20 percent of drink sales going to Sullivan.

Tickets are $15 through their GoFundMe account and $20 at the door. Tickets are $5 for any Chicago Public Schools teacher, student and parent of a student.

Boomer Berman, a Rogers Park citizen, created a GoFundMe account to help the football team get new shoulder pads.

"The helmet and shoulder pads are outdated. We thought we could raise money," Berman told DNAinfo when he created the Go Fund Me account. The momentum from the football team winning some games created an atmosphere for school spirit."

The account has raised over $3,800 to date.
