
ROGERS PARK — Singer Sinead O'Connor has been found and is safe after going missing in the Chicago area following a 6 a.m. Sunday bike ride in Wilmette and not returning, police said.
Wilmette Police issued a statement about the famed Irish singer, saying a "caller expressed concern for her well-being," prompting the alert from police.
By Monday afternoon, The Wilmette Beacon reported the singer had been found and was staying with friends in the area.

Sources told The Beacon that Sinead O'Connor has been staying with friends in Wilmette for several weeks.

Wilmette Police Chief Brian King told the Chicago Tribune the singer was riding a Raleigh motorized bicycle with a pink basket. She was last wearing a black parka, black leather pants and a sweatshirt with "Ireland" on the back, the Tribune reported.
It was unclear why O'Connor, 49, was in Wilmette.
Wilmette is about 5.5 miles from the Chicago border in Rogers Park, or about a 30-minute bike ride, according to Google Maps.
