CHICAGO — The last man police were seeking in the killing of 9-year-old Tyshawn Lee has been arrested in Downstate Vermilion County, according to media reports.

Kevin Edwards, 23, was the lone remaining fugitive wanted by police for his alleged involvement in the execution-style killing of Tyshawn in November. He was arrested in the central Illinois county Saturday night, according to the Tribune.

The Tribune reports that Edwards was a passenger in a car that was pulled over Saturday night. Edwards reportedly ran from police but was arrested. He gave a fake name to police before being brought to the county jail, according to the Tribune.

Edwards was one of three men wanted in Tyshawn's shooting death, which was seen by authorities as retaliation for earlier shootings between two feuding Auburn Gresham gangs.

Calls to the county sheriff's investigations division were not immediately returned Monday.

Corey Morgan, 27, was first to be charged in the case, when prosecutors in late November said he killed Tyshawn after Morgan's brother was killed and his mother wounded in an earlier shooting.

Dwight Boone Doty, 22, has been charged in the crime and now is considered by prosecutors to be the gunman who shot Tyshawn.

After police arrested the two men and announced that they were seeking Edwards, former police Supt. Garry McCarthy asked the man to turn himself in.

"Turn yourself in," McCarthy said at a news conference. "We're going to catch you. We're definitely going to catch you. It's just a matter of time. And in the case of a heinous crime like this, it's probably better if we catch you than someone else."

Police said Tyshawn was lured from Dawes Park by the men on Nov. 2, 2015, and was led to an alley in the 8000 block of South Damen Avenue where he was fatally shot.
