Grand Crossing Shooting Injures 5 People, Police Say

CHICAGO — A shooting in Grand Crossing injured five people Wednesday night, police said.

At 8:04 p.m., the victims were in the 7100 block of South State Street when the shooters walked up, fired at them and drove away, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police Department spokeswoman.

A 32-year-old woman was shot in the temple and was in critical condition at Stroger Hospital, Pacheco said. A 20-year-old man was hit in his chest and was also at Stroger in critical condition.

A 20-year-old man was hit in the arm and back, and a 27-year-old man was hit in his leg. They were at Mount Sinai Hospital, and their condition was not available but they were listed as "stable," Pacheco said.

A 26-year-old man was hit in the leg and he took himself to St. Bernard Hospital, Pacheco said.

No one was in custody in the shooting.
