ANDERSONVILLE — Just two years shy of a decade on Clark Street, Room Service Chicago announced Thursday it is closing.

"Room Service Chicago has been thrilled to be a part of one of the greatest neighborhoods in the country and after 8 years of doing business here, it is time to close our doors," said Jim Jostes, the proprietor of the vintage home furnishing shop at 5438 N. Clark St.

But, Jones is far from finished, he said in the note posted on Facebook and on the shop's windows.

"The face of retail is ever-changing, and with that, I will begin the process of a new concept which I envision to be greater and more exciting than anything I have ever done. I want to thank each and every one of our customers for your patronage of the shop and that you allowed us to thrive in this awesome community," he said.

Beginning Friday, everything in the store will be 40-percent off, except select consignment pieces, he said.

The store will officially close May 28.
