UPTOWN — The days are dwindling for Shake, Rattle and Read. To help clear out its stock, the store will be giving major discounts.

Everything in the store is now $1, except new vinyl, which is 50 percent off, according to the store's Facebook page.

Last week, Ric Addy, owner of the book and music shop at 4812 N. Broadway announced after the store closed on May 21, he would celebrate with the community with a retirement party. From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on May 22, Addy will host the party just a few feet south of this shop at the Green Mill, 4802 N. Broadway.

The party will have a cash bar and include performances by Addy's band the Pogo Ponies, "jazz piano genius Tommy Muellner" and another surprise guest, according to the event page.

Addy announced in December he was closing the store and planning to move to Florida.
