CHICAGO — A 20-year-old man was killed and a 19-year-old woman was wounded in a West Garfield Park shooting Sunday afternoon, according to police.

The two were talking on a porch in the 200 block of South Karlov Avenue at 1 p.m. when a man walked up and began firing, said Officer Kevin Quaid, Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was shot multiple times and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was ultimately pronounced dead, Quaid said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as Deshawn Thompson, of the same block.

The woman was grazed by a bullet in her back and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, Quaid said.

No arrests have been made.
