Englewood Shootings Wound 3 People, Including Teen Girl, Police Say

CHICAGO — Shootings in Englewood left three people, including a 16-year-old girl, wounded between Saturday and Friday night, police said.

• At 3 a.m. Saturday, a 38-year-old man was outside in the 6700 block of South Claremont Avenue when he heard shots and felt pain, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was hit in his leg and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in good condition.

• At 2 a.m., an 18-year-old man was in the 6300 block of South Ashland Avenue when he was shot in his arm, Sedevic said.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was not released but he was listed as "stable," Sedevic said.

The man was uncooperative, police said, and was a documented gang member.

• At 11:40 p.m. Friday, a 16-year-old girl was outside in the 700 block of West 61st Place when a silver car drove up and someone inside fired shots, Sedevic said.

The girl was hit in her thigh and she took herself to St. Bernard Hospital, where her condition was not released but she was listed as "stable," Sedevic said.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
