CHICAGO — A man tried to kidnap a 14-year-old girl on Wednesday morning in Roseland, police said.
At 8:28 a.m., the girl was walking in the 200 block of West 108th Street when she realized a car was following her, according to a Chicago Police community alert. A man got out of the car and grabbed the girl.
The girl got away from the man and ran off, police said.
The man was described as black, in his 30s, 5-foot-10 and with a thin build, police said. His hair was pulled back into a pony tail and he had a gap between his front teeth. He was wearing a blue coat with writing on the front, police said.
The man was in a late-model, silver, four-door car, possibly a 2008 to 2012 Chevy Malibu, police said.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at 312-747-8271.
