NORWOOD PARK — Resurrection College Prep High School President Sister Donna Marie Wolowicki, a former nurse, was honored by Presence Resurrection Medical Center with its 2016 award for community service.

Wolowicki was recognized April 27 with the medical center's Inspire award for her efforts to spread hope and encouragement throughout the Far Northwest Side of Chicago, Presence officials said.

Wolowicki began her career as an intensive care nurse at Resurrection Medical Center and served as the hospital's executive vice president and CEO from 1989-2011.

She became president of the all-girls Catholic high school at 7500 W. Talcott Ave. in 2013.

The Inspire Award recognizes exceptional leadership from an individual or organization that has gone above and beyond the call of duty to advance the well-being of the community, officials said.
