PORTAGE PARK — A classic film series will start Tuesday at the Patio Theater with a screening of the 1933 musical “42nd Street,” organizers said.

Dennis Wolkowicz, who restored the Portage Theater at Six Corners and ran it from 2006-14, will produce the series in his role as the general manager of operations for the Patio, 6008 W. Irving Park Road.

The weekly series will take place on Tuesdays through June 21. The movies will start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5, but members of the Silent Film Society of Chicago will get a $1 discount, organizers said.

The lineup is:

• Tuesday: "42nd Street," 1933, directed by Lloyd Bacon and Busby Berkeley

• May 10: "On Her Majesty's Secret Service," 1969, directed by Peter R. Hunt

• May 17: "Lost Horizon," 1937, directed by Frank Capra

• May 24: "One, Two Three," 1961, directed by Billy Wilder

• May 31: "Caddyshack," 1980, directed by Harold Ramis

• June 7: "All About Eve," 1950, directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz

• June 14: "Gone With The Wind," 1939, directed by Victor Fleming

• June 21: "That Night In Rio," 1941, directed by Irving Cummings
