THE LOOP — A DePaul University student was sexually assaulted in the Loop after getting knocked out by a "noxious substance" on a cloth and dragged into an SUV Friday night, the school said.

The student was walking about 10:30 p.m. Friday near Congress Parkway and Wabash Avenue when he was approached from behind and knocked unconscious, according to a DePaul alert e-mailed to students and faculty Saturday morning.

The suspects then dragged the victim into a SUV and robbed and sexually assaulted him, the school said. When the victim was able to get out of the truck, the suspects drove off, the school said.

Carol Hughes, a DePaul spokeswoman, did not have more information on the crime when asked Monday morning. The incident was not reported to Chicago Police as of Monday morning, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a police spokeswoman.

Anyone with information on the alleged crime is asked to call police or DePaul Public Safety at 312-362-8400.
