BACK OF THE YARDS — The Plant wants to teach the neighborhood about aquaponics.

The non-profit urban farming facility and green food incubator at 1400 W. 46th St. will host a $20 aquaponics workshop Saturday.

The workshop runs from noon-2 p.m. on the third floor of The Plant. Students will learn the basics of aquaponic farming with Plant Chicago’s Technology Coordinator, Eric Weber.

The two-hour lecture-style class covers the basics of aquaponics, the types of aquaponic systems and the fish and plants you can grow in one.
