CHICAGO — A 26-year-old man was chased down and shot in Chatham on Friday morning, police said.
At 6 a.m., the man left his home in the 600 block of East 80th Street and was chased down by someone shooting at him, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.
The man was hit in his chest and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition, Sedevic said.
The man is a documented gang member, police said.
No one was in custody in the shooting.
