SOUTH SHORE — The Chicago Symphony Orchestra will come to South Shore on Sunday to play a free concert.

The Civic Orchestra of Chicago, the training ensemble for the full symphony, will play selections of Mozart and Schubert at 3 p.m. Sunday at the South Shore Cultural Center, 7059 S. South Shore Drive.

Composer and pianist Matthew Aucoin will conduct Mozart’s "Symphony No. 39 in E-flat Major" and selections from “The Clemency of Titus” opera with mezzo-soprano soloist J’Nai Bridges. The program will close with Schubert’s "Symphony No. 3."

The symphony has played a free show at the cultural center every year starting in 2009, and as in past years, the event is free and open to the public.

The concert will be performed for free a second time on Tuesday at Symphony Center, but tickets are required for that show and can be reserved online at cso.org.
