CANARYVILLE — Road crews will begin reshaping Root Street at Halsted and Exchange this week.

The redeveloped road will make it easier for truck drivers to turn on to Halsted from Root, according to Ald. Patrick D. Thompson (11th).

“It’s been an issue,” Thompson said at a recent CAPS meeting. “We’ve been talking about it for many years.”

Project plans include crushed granite pathways, stamped concrete sidewalks, oak trees, a lawn and memorial wall.

Thompson did not have details on what the wall would commemorate.
