Learn To Build A Shelter In The Dan Ryan Woods

ASHBURN — The Dan Ryan Woods will host an event for children called Turning Sticks Into Shelter from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday.

Those participating in the free program will meet in the Cook County Forest Preserves' building at 8395 S. Western Ave. in Ashburn.

Organizers will teach how to build a survival shelter. Tips include choosing an ideal spot as well as how to construct a lean-to and A-frame style shelter in the woods.
