UPTOWN — While promoting their new movie "Keanu," comedians Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele dropped by a local nonprofit to meet some of Chicago's most eligible kitties, including Tuna Catserol, Purrhugz N' Harmony and Gingerfur Lopez.
The 2-minute episode of "Real Tree House Cats of Chicago," voiced by the hosts of Comedy Central's "Key and Peele," will be part of the Tree House Humane Society's support campaign to fund its new $7 million no-kill cat "community center," which includes a cat cafte, opening in West Ridge this fall.
“Tree House is grateful to Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele for the generosity of their time and talents to support our efforts to build a state-of-the-art facility that allows us to rescue and rehabilitate significantly more animals,” said Dave de Funiak, executive director of the Tree House Humane Society.
"Keanu" follows two straight-laced cousins as they try to infiltrate a street gang in pursuit of their beloved feline friend. The movie will be in theaters Friday.
