Earth Day Cleanup: Help Clear Garbage Near Chicago River's South Branch

BRIDGEPORT — The South Branch Park Advisory Council welcomes the neighborhood to clear garbage and debris from parks near the Chicago River and where construction crews will soon erect the Eleanor Street Boathouse.

The Earth Day cleanup is set for Saturday from 9 a.m.-noon at 2754 S. Eleanor Street.

You can register here to help clean up parks including Canal Origins, Canalport Riverwalk and Jacolik Park. All volunteers get a free T-shirt.

After the clean-up, the group will meet at The Duck Inn, 2701 S. Eleanor St., where volunteers can hang out.

Volunteers should wear comfortable shoes and clothes.
