CHICAGO — Police are asking Austin residents to be on the lookout after a string of armed robberies in the neighborhood.

At least two people have been robbed at gunpoint in the area since April 17, police said in a community alert issued Friday.

In the incidents, a group of men walk up behind people and put a handgun against their back before robbing them, police said.

The first instance happened at 7 p.m. April 17 in the 1200 block of North Parkside Avenue, police said. The second incident happened at 4:30 p.m. April 19 in the 1600 block of North Kilpatrick Avenue, police said.
