Morgan Park Police Issue Alert After Five Businesses Burglarized

BEVERLY — Morgan Park District police are warning area merchants after five area businesses were buglarized in recent weeks.

All of the break-ins occurred between 10 p.m.-6 a.m., police said.

Someone entered the businesses by prying open a rear door and then ripped the burglar alarm panel off the wall before taking money from the cash register or other office areas, according to the Chicago Police.

The robberies occurred on:

• March 22 in the 11800 block of South Vincennes Avenue in Morgan Park

• April 10 in the 10900 block of South Western Avenue in Morgan Park

• April 12 in the 10500 block of South Western Avenue in Beverly

• April 12 in the 11700 block of South Western Avenue in Morgan Park

• Wednesday in the 200 block of West 119th Street in West Pullman.

Police recommend business owners install video surveillance cameras inside and outside their businesses, and call 911 with a detailed description of any suspicious people or vehicles spotted nearby.
