CHICAGO — A 28-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were shot in North Lawndale on Monday night, according to police.
The two were on the sidewalk in the 3500 block of West Polk Street at 6:04 p.m. when someone opened fire, said Officer Kevin Quaid, Chicago Police spokesman.
The man suffered nine gunshot wounds throughout his body and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, Quaid said. The woman was shot in her buttocks and was also taken to Mount Sinai in good condition, he said.
No arrests have been made as the investigation is underway, Quaid said.
