WEST TOWN — Two men, 22 and 23, were shot in the West Town neighborhood early Sunday morning, police said.

Around 4:15 a.m., the men were standing in the 600 block of North Ashland Avenue when they heard gunshots and felt pain, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

A bystander drove the men to Stroger Hospital, Estrada said, where they were both treated for gunshot wounds in their legs. Police could not provide their conditions but said they were "stable."

Police said both men are documented gang members, and they believe the shooting was gang-related.

No one is in custody, Estrada said.
