GLADSTONE PARK — Residents who want to reserve a city bounce house for their summer block party now have to apply online, officials said.

Paper applications will no longer be accepted by city officials under the change announced Wednesday.

The brightly colored Jumping Jacks can be reserved for block parties held on Saturdays and Sundays between May 28 and Aug. 28, officials said.

Parties held on private property, in parks, in forest preserves, private parties, birthday parties and festivals are not eligible to apply, officials said.

Reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, officials said.

Renting a bounce house from a private firm typically costs between $150 and $300.

The online application system is designed to operate more efficiently than the previous system, which required residents to contact their alderman's staff, officials said.
