CHICAGO — Sure it just snowed in Chicago, but here's some excellent news: The city could see nearly 80-degree temperatures every day this weekend, a meteorologist said.

Friday will kick off the good weather: mostly sunny with a high of 72 in the south and west parts of the city (though temperatures will be lower near the lakefront, where a high of 59 degree is expected), said AccuWeather meteorologist Paul Walker.

"Nice weekend coming up," Walker said. "It looks like some nice weather for people going out."

Saturday will also be sunny and warm with a high temperature of 74 degrees near the south and west parts of the city and a high of 64 degrees near the lakefront, Walker said.

And Sunday will end the weekend with a high of 76 degrees, or 67 degrees near the lakefront, and partly sunny weather, Walker said.

"Stay away from the lake," Walker joked.

There will be lower temperatures early next week, and it might rain Wednesday night or Thursday, Walker said.
