BRIDGEPORT — Ald. Patrick D. Thompson (11th) welcomes the neighborhood to clean up garbage around Palmisano Park on Saturday.
The 11th Ward’s second annual Clean & Green campaign runs from 9 a.m.-noon, focusing on the greenery around the park at 2700 S. Halsted St.
The city will provide brooms, rakes, shovels and bags. Volunteers can bring their own gardening gloves.
The weather is expected to hover around 70 degrees.
“We’re encouraging everyone who wants to volunteer,” Thompson said. “It’s a great way to get some sun.”
Volunteers can register for the clean-up by calling the ward office at 773-254-6677.
