HERMOSA — A collective of artists and musicians are coming together to raise money and water for Flint, Michigan this weekend.

The Water For Flint Event will feature a band showcase as well as art, body painting and live art Saturday night.

The organizer behind the fundraiser, 28-year-old Alberto Che Guevara, said he was sick of seeing social media posts advocating for help for the water crisis with no action being taken.

"Rather than sit there and get angry about it, I figured let's do something to help," Guevara said.

Saturday's event will be held at The Black Couch, 4200 W. Diversey, starting at 9 p.m.

"Thousands of children have been affected by the high levels of lead in the drinking water in Flint," the hosts of the event said. "We want to help donate anything we can through the name of Chicago Art."

The organizers will be accepting donations at the door and ahead of the event through eventbrite.com and will also be accepting water that will be brought to Flint.
