2 Teens Charged In Lakeview Robbery On Addison Street Near Lake Shore Drive

LAKEVIEW — Two teenagers have been charged with robbing a man in Lakeview late Sunday.

According to police, a 17-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl were armed with a fake gun when they approached a 48-year-old man in the 500 block of West Addison Street near Lake Shore Drive about 11:45 p.m. Sunday.

The duo demanded cash, and were able to run away with the victim's money and cellphone, police said.

Officers responding to a call of "robbery in progress" were able to find the teenage suspects a few blocks away in the 3700 block of North Pine Grove Avenue, officials said.

Police recovered the victim's belongings and the fake gun, authorities said, and the victim was able to positively identify the duo as his attackers.

Each suspect is charged with one count of armed robbery with a dangerous weapon.

No further information was immediately available. The Chicago Police Department does not release mugshots of juveniles.
