CHICAGO — A 14-year-old boy was shot in Belmont Cragin late Sunday, according to police.

The boy was on the sidewalk with two men in the 5700 block of West Belden Avenue at 10 p.m. Sunday when another man walked up and began firing, said Officer Ana Pacheco, Chicago Police spokeswoman.

He was struck in his right hand and was brought to West Suburban Hospital, Pacheco said. His condition was not released but he was listed as "stable," Pacheco said.

A person of interest is being questioned by police in connection with the shooting, Pacheco said.
