UPTOWN — Construction is now underway at the Ross Dress For Less headed to Uptown.
In August, a representative for the company announced it had signed a lease for the space at 918 W. Montrose Ave., but wouldn't reveal details about when the store would open.
Construction could be seen at the site, which is across the street from World Gym Fitness Center and Jewel-Osco and between a row of apartment buildings.
Ross has been around since 1982 and has been bringing its customers "a constant stream of high quality department and specialty store brands," according to the Ross website.
Early renderings of the space, obtained by Uptown Update, show that Ross Dress For Less would be the anchor tenant and an additional 4,800 square feet remained for another retail space. The site would have 73 parking spots, Uptown Update said.[Renderings courtesy of Mid-America Real Estate]
